• Launch of Study Now, Pay Later and Partial Deferment Financial Scheme help needy students whose families are affected by the financial meltdown. These schemes gave them a chance to pursue their education. To date, we have more than 10 students under these schemes.

March
• FMDS plays host to six officers from Ministry of Education who have just recently been seconded to the ministry. This tour was specially conducted to orientate these new officers on the operations of private school and its modus operandi.

April - May
• FMDS successfully went through a Casetrust audit without any hitches. This is FMDS’ first test of its operation readiness and efficiency.

June
• FMDS was one of the 17 private schools specially selected to undergo EduTrust pilot assessment test. This EduTrust pilot assessment was instrumental for MOE officials to test-run their evaluation methodologies before submitting to Parliament in September to pass the bill for the official commencement of Edutrust Certification. 3 audit officers from the Singapore Ministry of Education was in campus for 2 days auditing the entire operating processes and assessing its readiness for the Edutrust Certifications programme.

July
• Fashion Design faculty was officially rolled out. Headed by Farah Tan, a lead lecturer with more than a decade of designing and teaching experiences in the fashion industry. Prior to joining FMDS, Farah was teaching in Raffles Design Institution based in Shanghai, China.

August
• Filmmaking was incorporated as part of the multimedia curriculum. This movie making module was headed by Kelvin Ke, an industry film expert whose short films had been showcased in several international film festivals previously.

September
• FMDS Jakarta secured its full operating license as an educational institute and began its full-fledged expansion. The current team is led by Don Chua who prior to joining FMDS Jakarta was holding a senior management position with Intraco, a Temasek-linked company based in HCMC, Vietnam.
• FMDS organised its second Agents’ Evening in Mulia Hotel in Jakarta with more than 10 key Indonesia agents from IKPII attending this exclusive ‘Show and Tell’ event.
