Design Management the Whole Brain Way
How far can a design graduate go if he/she does not possess effective skills to manage an organization and the creative talents? As more and more designers venture into their own businesses, the whole-brain design management program is a timely tool that equips FMDS graduates with critical skills to excel as managers.
In First Media Design School, we believe very strongly in moulding our students to become management trained designers. A good design manager is one who is able to understand and harness its creative talents, and apply appropriate management skills to run a design business successfully. Undoubtedly, creative talents have different ways of approaching problems, comprehending information and processing them.
As the world’s economy becomes increasingly converged and businesses more multifaceted, a management trained designer who can expand the thinking styles of his staff, superiors, customers, vendors or stakeholders may no longer be an accessory for a competitive business, but a necessity.
Hence, FDMS Design Management the Whole Brain Way program, based on Herrmann Whole Brain concept, was written to produce competent design managers who get things done resourcefully by understanding his own and others’ thinking styles and deploying them effectively. It also trains design managers to venture beyond their preferred thinking style and apply out-of-the-box management approaches.
