Importance of Courage
Courage is a mental and emotional strength. It is a word that means nothing to the fearless but a big word to the weak. Courage is clearly embedded in every virtue both at its starting and testing points. Courage is a prelude to every decision and a catalyst for every action. While it consists elements of naivety and stupidity, courage propels the successful few to try out new ideas and deters them from continuing with status quo.
Personally, courage is best defined as someone who fights, falls and rises again.
It endows me unlimited power to imagine. It inspires my creativity to experiment with new ideas. It also shields me from worries of negativities.
Courage gives me the strength to fight, to compete and to win. It pushes me to achieve higher personal limits, uncover hidden opportunities and win new friends.
Courage in Business
In the business world, courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is far more important than fear. With this courage, we dare to take risks, have the strength to face competition and the fortitude to endure adversity.
Courage in Self
To an individual, courage is the strength to seek out our personal weaknesses, our strength to accept the hard truths and readiness to change and become a better version of ourself.
To the Successful Few
The greatest courage of successful individuals is their willingness to act, take risks, cynical remarks, criticism, humiliation and their strength to bear defeat without giving up. To the few brave ones, despite trials and tribulations, dreams will be within reach.
To the Unsuccessful Many
The non-courageous ones are those who are not willing to face the truth and to deny the facts. They have neither the guts to take risks or the strength to undergo adversity. They are likely to overestimate possibility of failure and this very fear for failures prevents them from accomplishing anything great in their life. To these individuals, their courage is at times spiritualise and deposited in their faith – willing good things to happen without having to take real action to make it happen.
To the Courageous Ones Out There,
It is never about how well prepared you are before trying out new ideas
It is never about much you can gain before venturing into a business
It is never about the right timing before entering into a new market
It is never about the fear of failure
It is never about ‘do I know enough to succeed’
It is never about ‘should I?’ but ‘I should’
It is never about ‘Can I?’ but ‘I Can’
It is never about ‘When?’ but ‘Now’
It is never about ‘Why?’ but ‘Why Not?’
Courage is the ultimate push factor. It drives one to “just do it.” If failure is the mother of all success, courage is its grandmother.
Courage is not just about winning. It is also a process of discovering ourselves.
“I dream
I envision
I plan
I believe
I can
I will
I must
I try
I fail
I try again
I fail
I try harder
I win.”
